Chapter One :Chapter 1

Arriving in the city, Nancy Marlon, a twenty-four year old woman frowned as she didn't understand why her parents had asked her to return home.

She had been studying abroad, and after she graduated with a degree in business administration, her father clearly told her, “Nancy, I want you to return home and not stay in City X.”

Nancy was frustrated during the phone call with her father. She knew that her father was a politician in A-J City, and she couldn't go against his orders. So, she arrived at the airport at exactly 2 p.m. in the afternoon and saw that her father's men were already there, waiting to escort her home.

“Welcome home, Nancy,” her elder adopted brother, Matthew Marlon, smiled at her, but Nancy frowned as she walked with him to the car.

She sat in the back seat, aware that the city was ruled by the popular President Nolan Alejandro and his family. The city had been named after the Alejandro family, who had been ruling for years, and any opposition party that tried to challenge them was immediately silenced.

Nancy watched the road as Matthew started the car engine and drove out of the airport. Her eyes fell on the gigantic billboard displaying the city president.

"Hmm," Nancy hummed, noticing Matthew smiling at her through the rearview mirror.

She ignored his smile, continuing to wonder why her parents had insisted that she must return home.

Arriving home, the security men at her father's mansion gate pulled the huge black gates open for them. Nancy watched as Matthew drove his black exotic SUV onto the premises and parked.

She saw her parents standing at the mansion's entrance. Her mother was wearing a red gown, and her father stood in his black suit, with the maids behind them in their blue uniforms.

Nancy stepped out of the car and walked up to her parents. She was wearing a red top and black trousers with black high-heeled shoes.

As she approached, her mother warmly welcomed her, “Welcome home, my beautiful angel.”

“Good afternoon, Mom, Dad,” Nancy smiled as she hugged her mother. Her father finally said, “Welcome home, Nancy. It’s good to have you at home with us.”

“Thanks, Dad,” Nancy replied while still hugging her mother. The maids said, “Welcome home, Nancy.”

“Thank you all,” Nancy smiled at the maids, and her mother said, “Let us all go inside.”

“Okay, Mom,” Nancy replied, finally walking into the living room with her mother.

She noticed that the living room hadn't changed; it was still painted white with beautiful flower vases around.

Nancy walked over to a black couch in the living room, which had seven black couches.

"Home, sweet home," she whispered as she sat down on one of the black couches.

Her mother stood in the center of the living room, smiling sweetly at her.

“Mom, what is the good news about, as you look so excited to see me?” Nancy asked, becoming curious about the reason for her mother's bright smile. Her mother was a pure epitome of beauty, cute even at age 51, which didn’t show on her face. Her mother still looked under forty.

Mrs. Olivia Marlon smiled and finally sat down on the black couch. She replied, “Why wouldn’t I be excited to see you, Nancy? You've changed and look more beautiful than when you left the city five years ago.”

“Thanks, Mom, but I'm still the same,” Nancy replied and smiled sweetly at her mother. She knew that her mother was right, as she had changed compared to when she left the city five years ago to further her studies abroad. Her figure had become more pronounced, making her a sexy, charming young lady to behold.

Nancy knew that whenever she walked by, people around her would pause and stare back at her, because she looked so adorable now.

Her mother loved calling her an angel because of her pointed nose, blue sparkling eyes, and her long golden hair was the most attractive of her features.

“Mom, I need to go upstairs now and freshen up. Then I will come back downstairs to join you and Dad for dinner,” Nancy said as she stood up from the black couch.

“Okay, my dear,” Mrs. Olivia Marlon replied, unable to stop admiring her daughter. She thought about telling Nancy about the arranged marriage with the president's son but decided to wait.

Nancy smiled and walked upstairs to her bedroom. She approached her bedroom door, pushed it open, and walked into her room.

She noticed that her room hadn't changed; it was still painted pink with beautiful flower vases around.

Likewise, she walked up to her window to open the curtains and look out at her surroundings. She saw some black cars arriving. Three black cars drove into her father's mansion and parked.

She saw some men in black suits step out of the car at the back, walk up to the car at the front, and open the door.

Likewise, she saw a man in a black suit with a red shirt step out of the car. Their eyes met, his handsome gaze captured her attention, but she immediately looked away from the man, and shut her room curtains.

She walked back to her bathroom to strip off her clothes, deciding to take a bath and later join her parents for dinner.

Nancy took off her red top and black trousers and finally walked into her bathroom to bathe.

A few hours later, she stepped out of her bathroom wrapped in a long white towel. She walked up to her bed to apply lotion to her body.

Likewise, she really missed her family while she was abroad in City X, and decided to search for a new job now in AJ City, since she wouldn't be going back to City X anytime soon.

Nancy sat on her bed, pulled open her drawer, and took out her body lotion.

She then picked up her television remote and switched it on, seeing the images of their city president displayed on her television screen.

Increasing the volume, Nancy heard the reporter state, “Good evening, citizens of A-J City. Here is the 4 p.m. news today: President Nolan Alejandro has just won the recent ended election, scoring over 50 million votes.”

Nancy frowned, disliking the Alejandro family. She switched off her television, knowing the Alejandro family had been ruling for a long time and didn't want another family to rule.

She knew that her father was also a politician, working under the A-J Political Party group, and she sighed, deciding not to worry about politics.

Likewise, she didn't like the luxurious lifestyle her family led, as she wanted a simple life for herself, her future husband, and their sweet kids. She didn't like the security men who followed her every minute and second since her return to the city.

She finished applying lotion to her body, and she stood up from the bed, and searched for the clothes to wear.

Nancy entered into her closet and took out a short brown gown that she planned to wear. The brown gown snugly hugged her body, emphasizing her hips and shape.

She smiled, walked back to her room mirror, and holding her white towel in her right hand, and dried her wet golden hair as she combed it to cascade down her back.
