Chapter One :Chapter 1

I didn't know if it was the cold of the night or the sharp pain from my body that forced me to open my eyes.

I was still tied to a wooden post, with the moonlight falling on me, surrounded by a soft glow.

Blood flowed from my wrist into a goblet, next to which stood several vampires who couldn't wait to taste my blood.

My name was Jennie Ivy and I was captured by slavers just like other humans.

In the largest slave market in this city, I, like them, was the merchandise for sale, while I, along with a few other girls, was the showpiece.

I didn't know who made the rule that vampires can't have direct access to any slaves in the slave market.

To please them, the slave trader Wells would cut our skin with a sharp knife and catch a bit in a wine glass for the vampire to taste.

In order for the blood not to be wasted, Wells would take enough blood after the application of a brown slime to my wounds to stop the bleeding.

But that slime touched the skin like a branding iron sticking into a wound, and it made me scream in pain every time I was smeared with the slime.

Wells, however, thought it would be interesting to do so.

"Well, we can't waste any drop of your blood."

He picked a bit of mucus from the container with a branch and applied it to my wound.

"Ah!"

That familiar sharp pain made me scream again and my body trembled violently out of pain.

The vampires around them witnessed this and shouted with excitement.

They enjoyed watching humans being abused and tortured.

"Come on, it's showtime next."

Wells announced with a big smile.

Not only me, next to the machine several girls also screamed and cried in fear.

By showtime, he meant using another gray powder mixed with that brown slime and smearing it on our wounds.

After adding the gray powder, the slime would turn a dark green color that made people sick to their stomachs.

Once in contact with the blood from the wound, it would at first accelerate the blood loss, after which it would stop bleeding in a few minutes, blocking the surface of the wound and allowing the blood to form a round and blood-red mass on the surface of the skin.

This process was more painful than killing me because the blood clots held the wound open and the powder and mucus prevented it from healing.

My hands and feet were tied to the post, and the rope was strangled through the skin and embedded in the flesh. With each struggle I made, the rope strangled the wound deeper.

There were several vampires who came tonight and they all tasted my blood in goblets, so I had more wounds on me.

The dark green slime was smeared on my wounds, and the excruciating pain of being torn by the beast and the burning pain of the fire eventually made me scream my heart out.

"Ah!"

My screams echoed through the streets of the slave market, and no matter how much I cried, no one would come to my rescue, because that's how I'd been for the past month.

"Would you like to taste that disgusting liquid?"

As I was about to pass out, a voice came through the crowd.

Wells took one look at him and sank to the floor in fear.

I looked over curiously and the man was wearing a straight suit with a rose pattern, which had bat wings on it, on the lapel.

Most importantly, he actually didn t need to wear a mask like other vampires, and even his eyes were very beautiful emerald green.

Angular features, a near-perfect face with prominent lines, clean and sharp short hair, set off by a suit of noble elegance. The man was freaking handsome than I d never seen.

He also had the same majesty that made people afraid to offend.

"Oh no, sir, I'm just offering a little taste of blood to my customers."

Wells dropped to his knees in horror and explained to him.

The vampires watching nearby had lowered their heads, not daring to say a word.

Suddenly there was only the sound of my heavy breathing and the sound of my extremely fast heartbeat all around me.

The man did not answer, but slowly walked up to me and surveyed the wounds on my body, which were swelling with clots of blood.

Looking at his eyes that seemed to penetrate my soul, I felt a fear that I had never felt before and did not even dare to make a sound.

And at the time, having been taken part of the blood every day, the screaming out of pain had made my voice almost hoarse and the struggle also exhausted the last bit of strength.

All sorts of reasons could explain why I couldn't move a bit more or scream out anymore.

"Wanna hear his miserable screams?"

He stared at me with both eyes in gentle inquiry.

I looked at him with wide eyes, I didn't understand why he was doing this, or I didn't know what he was trying to do.

Even though I hated Wells so much, he killed my family and kept abusing and torturing me.

He turned toward Wells and glanced at the slime next to him with an icy gaze .

The moment he leaned down, I clearly heard Wells' harsh screams, and the slime laced with white powder was applied to Wells' wounds on his face.

Wells' voice lasted only a moment before he staggered to his feet again, covering half his face, full of fear and keeping his distance from the man.

"I'm going to buy her."

He pointed at me and said.

"She...costs 300 gold coins..."

Wells' voice was shaking from fear.

"There are 500 gold coins, and the extra part is considered compensation for your face."

The man took out a money bag that also had bat roses in it and handed it to Wells.

"Thank you, sir."

Wells bowed to him with a trembling body.

"Write down all the information about her and give it to me."

The man said calmly, and Wells could only agree.

After Wells released me from the stake, the severe pain and weakness of my body made me fall to the ground. I need a little time to slow down, but he took another chain around my neck, deliberately tightened, so that I was strangled violent coughing.

"Hey! You little bitch, hurry up..."

Wells screamed at me, and before he could finish his sentence, he got a cold glare and shut up in fear.

"If you touch her, I guarantee you will experience the cruelest punishment in the world."

The men had run out of patience with Wells.

Wells hurriedly ducked to the side and bowed his head like those vampires.

"Can you try to stand up?"

He leaned down slightly and asked gently, and held out his hand to me.

I did not dare to touch him, because pets or slaves were banned from touching their masters,, or they would be killed.

So I nodded and stood up slowly, grabbing a stake on the side.

He did not push me, nor did he pull the chain as hard as Wells did, but allowed me to take a step before he led the other end of the chain toward the exit of the slave market.
